A Broody Hen at Briden Farm

The Old Grey Hen Sitting On Eggs

One of the nice things about Spring is that it’s the time of birth, and rebirth. It gives us hope! Hope for those who are born, hope for the future, and hope for rebirth after that!

Perhaps that’s why when we see the first Spring Robin, or a Butterfly, or a Broody Hen sitting on a clutch of Eggs on Her Nest. During the 3 Weeks the Hen sits on her nest, she undergoes a real transformation! Then, when her eggs hatch, and She emerges from her place of refuge and brings new life with Her! It might not be a complete Resurrection, but anyone who has witnessed the miracle of birth, or rebirth, knows it really is a miracle!

Our “Old Grey Hen”, pictured above is doing just that! We soon hope to bring You photos of Her little ball of joy as the Chicks emerge and find their place in their brand new World! Here at Briden Farm!

A Tractor Ride at Briden Farm Part 3

A Tractor Ride at Briden Farm (Pt. 3)

So thankful You’ve taken time to share in our ride!

In A Tractor Ride at Briden Farm Part 1 and A Tractor Ride at Briden Farm Part 2 You got to see how we’re turning our Woodlands to Pasture and later to Gardens with the help of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats and our Berkshire Tamworth Pigs. How we’re making fencing from up-cycling old Mink Cages, and even how much of a slope we have on certain parts of Briden Farm. In fact, You even discovered that sometimes I think it’s better to turn the camera off and concentrate on our driving!

Now, get ready for A Tractor Ride at Briden Farm Part 3. In Part 3 You’ll see the conclusion, you’ll see how far I got, and get a sneak peek at the journey back!

Thanks so much for watching our videos! I learnt a few things making this three part series of A Tractor Ride at Briden Farm. One thing is, now that we’ve got Fibe from Bell it takes minutes, not hours, to upload videos! This means that next time, I can do a long length video and know that it’s possible to get it uploaded! It also makes me think it might be nice to have a GoPro camera and some related equipment to make even better videos! Not sure how soon we can do that, but with your support maybe it’ll happen sooner rather than later!

Holly Loves Helping With Chores At Briden Farm

Holly At Her Master’s Feet

Morning and Night we do Chores at Briden Farm and Holly Loves Helping With Chores.

Holly come to Briden Farm mid April and has fit right in. Before coming here, she was loved and well treated by her loving Human Parents, but she led somewhat a sheltered life. She’s a Golden Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Toller mix and therefore very much a water dog. However, other than Bath Time, she’d never been in the water, and she was very timid, hiding behind her master, or in her kennel, when friends visited with other dogs. On Holly’s third day here, with us, she was coming outside, on leash, to do chores with us. After a few days we no longer needed the leash. I remember one day when She first encountered our Pigs! She heard one of them Grunt, Tom I think, but it may have been Jerry, and She took off! The next day she walked up and touched noses through the gate! Not something I encourage, but it sure was neat to see!

Now, as you can see in the video, Holly gets very excited just at the mention of helping with chores! It’s very encouraging.

Robbie & Nikie Playing At Briden Farm

Robby, Nanna and Nickie

Back on March 9, 2021, our Nigerian Dwarf Goat, Nanna, had two Nigerian Dwarf Kids, little male Buklings, who we later named Nicky and Robbie.

The nice thing is, lately They’re and not only eating hay and grain, but also learning to browse and forage while enjoying the pasture, and as in this video barking trees while Playing At Briden Farm.
