Four Grain Scratch Feed is comprised of the Barley, Oats, Corn, and Wheat. This combination of different flour and cereal grains provides a variety of nutrients, which includes carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals that help contribute to a more balanced diet.
Barley provides energy from starch and rumen-degradable protein (nitrogen) necessary for healthy populations of forage-digesting bacteria in the rumen.
Oats are used as feed ingredients for animals such as horses, cattle, ruminants, sheep, pigs, and poultry. However, oats as grain and whole-crop have a lower nutritional value than Corn.
Corn is a useful feed ingredient. It is high in energy but relatively low in protein, compared with other feed grains.
Wheat is an excellent feed source for polygastric animals such as ruminants. It can help provide protein if the cultivation and growth conditions were adequate, and provides high energy values making it good for ruminants.
