Exciting for sure! Spring is here, temperatures are rising, and we’ve been busy! Preparing for the arrival of the Three Little Pigs otherwise known as the Three Stooges. Larry, Curly, and Moe, don’t cha know!? Hey, extra bonus points if you can tell me the names of Disney’s Tree Little Pigs?
We’ve also developed the Briden Farm Line of Clothing and Collectibles. You’ve seen them, T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Blankets, and so on! Right?
However, what You haven’t seen, yet, is our new online Market! That’s right and more than just farm stuff too Automotive, Fishing, Home & Garden, Home Improvement, and Toys too!
It’s this time of year, when the days begin to lengthen, and our Hens begin to lay more, and more, it’s a sure sign of Spring! It may not be here yet, in fact we’re having a small snow storm today, but it’s coming and it’s just around the corner! I can feel it in my bones! Or maybe it’s just the Cold!

Today we had 18 Eggs! Possibly our biggest days since starting the Farm! Last year, five or six of our hens got broody and hatched 🐣 about 30 Chicks 🐥
Now, those Young Chicks have grown up and they’re starting to lay! We still have too many Easter Egger Roosters! Our Roosters are naturally hatched, well handled, and gentle! They also come from a good line of Flock Protectors! Maybe you can give a good home to a Rooster?
The nice thing is, going out to the Coop and seeing the nest boxes full of eggs! Whether the eggs get eaten, or we make Pickled Eggs, or they get used, or Sold as Hatching Eggs, it’s always nice to have an abundance of Fresh Farm Eggs!
Nothing says Spring like the beautiful sunshine that pours out of a fried egg! No matter how it’s cooked, it’s eggactly what the Season calls for!
In fact, not only do we have lots of Fresh Hen eggs from our Chickens, We’ve also started getting Muscovy Duck Eggs! 🥚 🥚 🥚 🥚 🥚 🥚
So, in the weeks to come, we should not only have lots of Eggs, but also have lots of Chicks and Muscovy Ducklings! 🐥 🐥 🐥 🐥 🐥 🐥
So whether You’re looking to come embrace, the fun, at Briden Farm, and spend some time with our Chickens and Ducks, and Goats, and other Animals, or You’re looking for Hatching Eggs, or Chicks, or Ducklings, or whatever you’re looking for, hopefully we can help! Or help You find it!
It’s a beautiful night, as I walk to the door, and open it as the refreshing rain hits my body it’s invigorating! The experience fills my whole being with thankfulness! Why?
It’s February and it’s over 10 Degrees Celsius outside at 4:30am. It’s over 18 inside and the Wood Stove has been out for hours and the furnace is turned down low.
The mountain of snow in melting quickly and our mountain home is showing signs of Spring!
I know there will be more snow, after this, we still have a month or so of Winter weather to come, but this is a promise of things to come and for me it’s exhilarating.
See, while I try to put on a happy face and put forth a positive attitude it’s really hard this time of year! Although this time of year is one of my favourite times of year! That’s because there’s now noticeable daylight after 6pm. Now, when these Plus Temperatures and melting snow just seem like the icing on top of the cake! 🍰
So, as I sit here, relaxing, and sipping my coffee, I feel the SAD effects, those of Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder slip away! It’s a disorder that affects many, yet sounds so lame! Although when I first heard of it, it made total sense! I’ve always suffered with depression, especially this time of Year! So, when the days start getting longer, the temps start getting higher, and the snow starts disappearing, my whole being rejoices! Maybe it’s my Mesoamerican DNA,
Anyway, for now, I’m going to leave my fears behind, and embrace, the fun, warmer temperatures, and rain here at Briden Farm! 😉
