Fabulous February Feeling Of Freedom

After nearly six weeks of being snowed in, 38 Days actually, our Laneway at Briden Farm is now open!

You might say we have the…

Fabulous February Feeling Of Freedom

How’s that for a mouthful!? The good news is that We were able to bring the truck up, and we’ve learned a valuable lesson! From now on we’re leaving it parked where we can get out if we get hit with another unexpected snow storm.

Oh, we know, there will be more Snow! More Winter Storms! We may even get snowed in again! That sounds likely, but, it still makes this warm, it was in the 50s here today! I much prefer using Fahrenheit in such cases. Saying it’s 12 or 13 Degrees just doesn’t cut it when it’s near 55 F. Not to mention there are only about 30 Days left before Spring!

So, for now, we’ll revel in our little victories, like being able to bring the truck up and park it near the house. 🏡

The photo above was taken today, 18 February 2022. If You’d like to see what the Laneway looked like, six weeks ago, click here to watch our Video on TV.BridenFarm.com

I really like this idea, for Business or Family! If I had kids, rather than have their friends tie up our family phone, or buy them a phone, tablet, laptop, etc. I’d just get a virtual phone number, like our 902-907-0770 and let each kid get a number, and have their own number and free up the house phone! Or, like our Farm phone, or my other numbers, I love Virtual numbers and have used them for years! So check this out…

A Balmy Rainy February Night

A Balmy Rainy February Night

It’s a beautiful night, as I walk to the door, and open it as the refreshing rain hits my body it’s invigorating! The experience fills my whole being with thankfulness! Why?

It’s February and it’s over 10 Degrees Celsius outside at 4:30am. It’s over 18 inside and the Wood Stove has been out for hours and the furnace is turned down low.

The mountain of snow in melting quickly and our mountain home is showing signs of Spring!

I know there will be more snow, after this, we still have a month or so of Winter weather to come, but this is a promise of things to come and for me it’s exhilarating.

See, while I try to put on a happy face and put forth a positive attitude it’s really hard this time of year! Although this time of year is one of my favourite times of year! That’s because there’s now noticeable daylight after 6pm. Now, when these Plus Temperatures and melting snow just seem like the icing on top of the cake! 🍰

So, as I sit here, relaxing, and sipping my coffee, I feel the SAD effects, those of Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder slip away! It’s a disorder that affects many, yet sounds so lame! Although when I first heard of it, it made total sense! I’ve always suffered with depression, especially this time of Year! So, when the days start getting longer, the temps start getting higher, and the snow starts disappearing, my whole being rejoices! Maybe it’s my Mesoamerican DNA,

Anyway, for now, I’m going to leave my fears behind, and embrace, the fun, warmer temperatures, and rain here at Briden Farm! 😉

You May Think We’re Nuts

Ah Nits Flying Squirrels

So, we know some of You probably think we’re Nuts!

Somedays, We think You might be right!

Seems the Squirrels even confirm it!

We have a section of ceiling where the tiles have started to come down! Actually we have it on good authority, it started to come down about 60 Years Ago!

Last Night this little guy, a Flying Squirrel, come peeking out, and then decided that tile had been hanging there long enough! He made it fall, but, thankfully only the one tile fell! So, the others might just hang there till another Squirrel decides to come in and use our ceiling as it’s trampoline!

What ensued was interesting, with the dogs a little to interested in getting rid of the Squirrel. Actually, as you can see in this video, it really turned things upside down…

You’ll be happy to know the Dogs, much to their dismay, didn’t kill the Squirrel. I managed to catch it, took it outside, and the dogs chased it up the hill, up a tree, and then it flew! Actually glided away and took off towards Morganville!

If You’re nuts like us, come visit us at Briden Farm! You never know what we’re up to!
