New Babies, Pastures, & Gardens

While many birds and animals have their young early in the spring, it seems ours like to wait! June seems to be our busy month!

With outs of Chicks, Ducklings, Baby Bunnies, and the Goats are due in July. I think!

Garden needs tending and fertilizing, we use natural fertilizers and that takes time. Plus rotating pastures!

So, it definitely is a busy time of Year! It’s also a great time to visit! Yes, we’re busy, but your visits give us a break.

So, call Brian now to Book Your Visit….

Say Hi to Peter… or should I say Hi Five Pete!

Hi Five Pete

This past week we got a new kitten, and later that day we met a new family who come to visit us here at Briden Farm. Their daughter spent a few minutes with our new kitten and come out and said, “I called him Peter there times, and He Meowed! He should be called Peter!” Thus, his name is Peter, although we usually call him Pete!

Now, over the past couple of days, As You see in this video, I’ve been teaching Pete to do High Fives!

Come Visit Pete, and all of us, here at Briden Farm. To Book Your Visit, Call Brian now at 902-907-0770

Growing A Self Sustaining Future

Creating Compost

When we think of growing self sustaining, we often think of gardening and the meat we can put on the plate. However, to be truly self sustaining we need go deeper than this! We really need to begin and work from the ground up! For only then can we truly become free!

We need to produce our own fertilizer, preferably natural fertilizer, and develop our own food and feed. Without fertilizer, without the ability to create our own fertilizer we will always be beholden to others. Dependent on the System!

Perhaps that is why it gives me such immense pleasure to see us turning animal waste, manure, hay, etc., into well developed compost. It will in turn be used in our gardens, and eventually to help grow livestock feed!

While manure and compost may not be the end all and be all, it sure does provide an uncanny sense of accomplishment! Just knowing we’re that much closer to being able to grow our own food, and survive when the crap hits the fan!

Creating Compost helps a Self Sustaining Future

Touring Briden Farm and Gardens

Briden Farm Gardens

Touring Briden Farm today, on video. It’s focused more on our gardens and the work we’ve been doing over the past few weeks. Shows some of our animals, although I think we may need to do another video soon, focusing more on the animals. Hope you enjoy today’s Video tour, and please note it’s recorded in 3 Parts, each about 10 minutes long. Divided into three parts just to make it easier to load.

While a Picture is worth a Thousand Words, and a video is full of many pictures, No Video can give You the joy of visiting in person! So, please contact us to book your Briden Farm visit. Call Brian at (902) 907-0770
