There’s a Candle in the Window

Put there for all who see
For All Who See
Are Welcome to take refuge with Me.

Tis an Irish Tradition,
To help guide them
On Their Way

The Candle in the Window
Reminds us of another day.
Made possible by the Child
Whose Birth We Celebrate this way!

May the Candle in the Window
Help Guide You
And Keep You
In Your Steady Stay

Christmas Night and It’s Too Warm to Sleep!

To Warm To Sleep

Two Degrees! That’s the temperature difference between Bear River, Nova Scotia and Costa Rica at Midnight on Christmas Night in Costa Rica! Which is 2am here at Briden Farm in Bear River, Nova Scotia. Which means we’ve let the Wood stove go out, and it’s still to hot to sleep! Maybe instead of a Wood Stove we should’ve got an air conditioner! Lol.

Now, not wanting to tempt the fates, I have to say this is unseasonably warm! Normally we’d have snow and freezing temperatures at this time of year here at Briden Farm. So, even though it may be to warm to sleep, we’re enjoying these warm temperatures while we can!

Brian Hurlburt, locally known by many as The Bear River Hobbit, and Denis moved back to Bear River earlier this year when they bought the old Jack Harris place on Rice Mullen Road. They’ve started a small Hobby Farm there, with Nigerian Dwarf Goats and numerous Chickens.

Brian is he one who, twelve years ago, had the Hobbits Hollow gift shop in Chester Colbeck’s old Barber Shop across from the Rebecca Hall, and Sissiboo Coffee Roaster, and become known as the…
