A Magical Winter Wonderland at The Barn Property

First Snowfall at The Barn

We had our first snowfall of the season last night. While it probably means four months of hardships, harsh winds, and bitter cold, it also brings with it it own beauty. That beauty, the beauty of this magical season is captured in this post and video. As is the incredible work our Goats and Pigs have been doing over the past 80 days! It really captures well, the before and after!

A Day at the Beech

A Day at the Beech

So, it’s probably not the first thing You think of, when you hear we had a A Day at the Beech! However, it is exactly what I did today! From cutting it down with my Stihl Chainsaw to cutting it up, loading it on the truck, and piling it up! One Day, One Tree, and about Half a Cord of Fire Wood. Now, if I can do it seventeen more times, I’ll have our Winter’s Fire Wood.

Last Year was the first year I did our own firewood! We used our kitchen enterprise stove, and had furnace oil and electric backup. This year we plan to have a living room stove and burning both stoves to help eliminate the oil and electric which are already too expensive!

Thirty years ago, I was a weakling, and my self image was just as weak! I knew I was a weakling and, “I couldn’t do it!” Now, thirty years later, having worked on my self esteem, and in more recent years my physical self, now I’ll tackle about anything!

As a result, I love working in the wood, and the sense of self esteem and accomplishment that comes from processing one’s own fuel, and food from our gardens, is fun and rewarding. If you’d like to have some fun, and join in, call Brian at 902-907-0770

Touring Briden Farm and Gardens

Briden Farm Gardens

Touring Briden Farm today, on video. It’s focused more on our gardens and the work we’ve been doing over the past few weeks. Shows some of our animals, although I think we may need to do another video soon, focusing more on the animals. Hope you enjoy today’s Video tour, and please note it’s recorded in 3 Parts, each about 10 minutes long. Divided into three parts just to make it easier to load.

While a Picture is worth a Thousand Words, and a video is full of many pictures, No Video can give You the joy of visiting in person! So, please contact us to book your Briden Farm visit. Call Brian at (902) 907-0770

Fabulous February Feeling Of Freedom

Fabulous February Feeling Of Freedom

After nearly six weeks of being snowed in, 38 Days actually, our Laneway at Briden Farm is now open!

You might say we have the…

Fabulous February Feeling Of Freedom

How’s that for a mouthful!? The good news is that We were able to bring the truck up, and we’ve learned a valuable lesson! From now on we’re leaving it parked where we can get out if we get hit with another unexpected snow storm.

Oh, we know, there will be more Snow! More Winter Storms! We may even get snowed in again! That sounds likely, but, it still makes this warm, it was in the 50s here today! I much prefer using Fahrenheit in such cases. Saying it’s 12 or 13 Degrees just doesn’t cut it when it’s near 55 F. Not to mention there are only about 30 Days left before Spring!

So, for now, we’ll revel in our little victories, like being able to bring the truck up and park it near the house. 🏡

The photo above was taken today, 18 February 2022. If You’d like to see what the Laneway looked like, six weeks ago, click here to watch our Video on TV.BridenFarm.com

I really like this idea, for Business or Family! If I had kids, rather than have their friends tie up our family phone, or buy them a phone, tablet, laptop, etc. I’d just get a virtual phone number, like our 902-907-0770 and let each kid get a number, and have their own number and free up the house phone! Or, like our Farm phone, or my other numbers, I love Virtual numbers and have used them for years! So check this out…
